We all know how fast Patanjali, as a consumer and health product, is capturing market share in India and Globally. However, we recently came across a video which points out some rather astonishing facts about Patanjali Products which we, like most of the consumers, were unaware of. So is it all TOO GOOD to be true?
The video talks about how Patanjali has taken over market share, in just under 3 years, from Trusted brands/competitors who have constantly been improving upon their products for the past 25+ years with huge spends on Research and Development. The Answer: It’s actually the FAITH of countless followers in Baba Ramdev (who is seen as the epitomy of achieving good health the Indian way) which has resulted in HUGE no. of unsuspecting consumers for Patanjali products. Furthermore, one of the Patanjali’s products (as shown in the video) has chemicals (as ingredients mentioned at the backside of the product) which are associated with Nerve Damage, Skin Toxicity and Cancer causing effects.
However, FDA says Sodium is safe because the amount used to preserve food is quite low as long as it is not combined with Vitamin C/E as it become carcinogenic (cancer causing). In addition, lot of people claim that Patanjali noodles are healthy but they might be mistaken. Not only does Patanjali noodles have Maida (which’s considered reasonably unhealthy) listed as a first ingredient it also has 2.69% Ash content (As per the Chief Food Safety Officer) which is more than other major noodles in the market and also above the permissible limit of 1% (as per Govt. Regulation).
